Move your mouse over the map above - you should see an open hand. Place the hand anywhere on the map and double click the left mouse button. You will zoom in and center on that point. You can do this again and again. An alternative is to use the "plus", "minus", and "arrows" in the upper left of the map.

Day 11: {now near point "O"}

THURSDAY, JUNE 12: Kittanning Pa. to East Liverpool, Ohio, 74 miles.

More milestones:  We returned to our original route in Butler, Pa. at midmorning, crossed the 600-mile mark early in the afternoon and crossed into Ohio at about 6 p.m..  Although the weather was nearly perfect today and yesterday, we won’t miss Pennsylvania. The hills were indeed, as many locals called them, “the endless mountains.” Although eastern Ohio has a few hills, Ben hugged and kissed the first Ohio highway sign he saw, dreaming of flat farm fields that extend for as far as the eye can.

As midwestern thunderstorms and tornadoes loom, we’re keeping an eye on the weather.
