Move your mouse over the map above - you should see an open hand. Place the hand anywhere on the map and double click the left mouse button. You will zoom in and center on that point. You can do this again and again. An alternative is to use the "plus", "minus", and "arrows" in the upper left of the map.
Day 30: {still south of "V"}
JULY 4: McPherson, Kans. Enjoyed our day off, sleeping in (me until 7:30 and Ben until 9:30). Enjoying a 10:30 a.m. breakfast, restocking at Wal-Mart, savoring milkshakes at the Braum’s dairy drive-in next to our motel and watching fireworks.
There was a show at the municipal park, but people were setting off skyrockets in every direction. Quite a spectacle, and unlike California, the Midwest was steadily drenched this season and you’d need Napalm to start a fire in Kansas.
Also called and raised a toast to my wife, Suzy. Today we’ve been married for 21 years and 2008’s is the first anniversary we’ve spent apart. It won’t happen again.
Grew hot and muggy in the afternoon and the forecast for Western Kansas over the next few days is not great for cycling.
